In the Centric Pro Theme Demo set up instructions, in the HOW TO CONFIGURE THE HOME SECTION 3 WIDGET AREA section it makes a note:

Note: The posts displayed in the Centric Pro theme demo use a custom excerpt.

It does not however explain how to edit the "custom excerpt"

Can someone help

On every Post Edit screen you'll find a custom excerpt meta box. http://wpsites.net/wordpress/adding-post-summary-excerpts-in-archives-rss-feeds/

Check the top right hand corner for screen options if its not displaying.
