MemberUgh! We are up to date on all of our plugins and current to the most recent version of WP 3.7.1.
However just now it alerted me in my dashboard that Genesis Simple Hooks plugin by Nathan Rice had a new update that came available today which added more hooks and was suppose to depreciate others.
So I proceeded to do that update to this plugin. While I can go to my website here at http://www.spaparazzi.com and everything looks no different, and all displays the way it was before, sadly right after I went to update the plugin the dashboard update page displayed an internal 500 error and now I can no longer log into the admin page without receiving a 500 internal error.
Help! How can I fix this? I am NOT using the most recent update to Genesis V 2.0.1 and do not subcsribe to automatic updates for such but don't think this has anything to do with it.
This is the page to the plugin itself. http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-simple-hooks/installation/
Help. 🙁

MemberIn the meantime here I decided to use our FTP program and remove this particular plugin folder but when I did this....... the opposite happened!
I could once again log into the admin dashboard but then my website would not display.
So I went ahead and added the plugin folder via FTP back in. (since I uploaded it to my own computer first, just in case that might happen).
So now back to being able to see the website but can't get in to modify it via the dashboard. 🙁

MemberHave you tried going back to the previous version of Simple Hooks? I believe version 2 requires Genesis 2, so if you're not running that, it might conflict with what you're using.

MemberGet access to your admin area. Do a mass deactivate of all plugins. Then re-activate all of them one by one and skip Simple Hooks for now. See if you can at least get your site back up and running again.

MemberI went in and renamed that particular plugin folder and now I can get back into the website and admin panel but the one thing I see I am missing is my 728 x 90 banner which normally appeared at the bottom in my footer.
Most likey it was the only thing I was using it for.I have a shortcode I can use to display this ad but not sure where I would insert this if I don't have the hooks plugin now?
These are the 2 options I have:
In a post or page:
[adrotate group="3"]Directly in a theme:
<?php echo adrotate_group(3); ?>December 11, 2013 at 12:23 am #78282Summer
MemberIf you're using AdRotate, could you put that ad back in the footer using the widget?

MemberBack in business. Found the previous version of that Simple Hooks plugin on the developers tab in the Word Press support site. Uploaded the older version and now its working just fine!
Think I will be holding off on upgrading that one for a good while.
I am only still only running Genesis Version: 1.4.1 as well, but have been reluctant to do so since there is always a chance for that sort of thing to even happen with that.

MemberI'm surprised the previous version of Simple Hooks works... the docs say it requires at least Genesis 1.8, but will deactivate itself if it finds an older version running.
Why the reluctance to update to at least 1.8 or 1.9?
