    I am using Genesis with the Prose child theme. I am trying to start building an online store.

    I have installed the WooCommerce plug-in, and I am trying to install the Genesis Connect for WooCommerce plug-in to make it work. When I try and activate the Genesis Connect plug-in, I get the message:

    Sorry! In order to use the Genesis Connect for WooCommerce plugin you need to do the following:

    Add this code to your child theme's functions.php:
    add_theme_support( 'genesis-connect-woocommerce' );

    I go to Appearance-Theme Editor and when I click on functions.php it says:

    <?php
    /*
    WARNING: DO NOT edit this file under any circumstances.
    Please do all PHP modifications via the Custom Code admin menu.

    So I go to the Custom Code and add the line under Custom functions

    But the error message does not go away when I go back to Genesis Connect

    What am I doing wrong?

    You're not doing anything wrong. The issue you are experiencing is unique to the prose theme. The problem is that the Genesis Connect plugin looks in functions.php for filter. Because you add that line as a custom function, it doesn't exist in functions.php until run time. If you want to activate the plugin. Add the filter line to functions.php, activate the plugin, then delete the line from functions.php. Everything should work after that.

    I can't activate the plug-in. I add the line, but it still won't let me activate.

    It's very frustrating. Maybe I should switch themes.

    With this tutorial, you don't need the plugin
