Can't get My UL To Work

I'm trying to just put some images on the side of some content using an Un-ordered List.

This is the code:

#side_images ul { width: 280px; float: right; margin-left: 20px; }
#side_images li { width: 276px; margin: 0 auto; list-style: none; }

I'm placing the code in the Custom CSS module of JetPack.
The problem is nothing from the ul will work - the mages won't float right - but the properties of the li are working fine.
If I add the values using the style="" tag, it works fine.
And.... using Firebug, I can view the values of the li in the sidebar, the ul isn't being displayed at all.

What am I doing wrong?
