We love the Modern Portfolio Theme. We are using the Genesis Widget Amplified and were hoping to use pages on the home page instead of posts; but, they don't align 3 across nicely the same way it does when posts are used. Is there an easy fix in the CSS or PHP to use pages instead of posts?

Love to hear from anyone who can help. Thanks in advance.

From the tutorial the posts are using the category 'Portfolio'. From firebug, GWA is using a grid in a odd/even layout and the style #portfolo .featurepost. Looking at the style.css, section #04b ( line 415 ) seems to control the layout. So your pages are probably not using that style. So I would think you need to get the style using firebug ( .featurepage? ) and add it to your stylesheet. Or ask George the plugin author.
