I'd like to use a Revolution Slider for the background instead of a static image in the hero area of the Essence Pro home page.

How would I go about doing this?

Ordinarily, a shortcode would be used to embed the slider, but I've tried inserting a custom html widget in the hero area with the shortcode, but nothing happens.

Ok... I'm resurrecting this old thread because even though no one answered here, I had a workaround that I hired someone to code for me to use the Soliloquy slider instead of the Revolution slider, but it turns out I'm definitely going to need the Rev slider because of the Ken Burns effect (which apparently Soliloquy is incapable of doing). My client really wants the images to zoom in and out as they transition.

I only want this slider as the BACKGROUND in the hero section on the homepage. The rest of the pages of the site will use the regular featured images in the hero area.

Can anyone give me advice on how to accomplish this? If not, can I hire someone to do this for a reasonable price?
