Does anyone know how to remove the author name and date from a wordpress portfolio page?

Try adding this to the functions.php file.

// Remove Post Info, Post Meta from CPT
add_action ( 'genesis_before_loop', 'business_pro_remove_post_info' );
function business_pro_remove_post_info() {
	if ('portfolio' == get_post_type()) {
		remove_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_post_info', 12 );
		remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_post_meta' );
	}
}
