I have a client using the Daily Dish theme, the blog titles are no longer visible on either the home page or the blog posts themselves. I tried disabling all the plugins.. no change.. I changed the theme to 2017 and the titles reappeared. This leads me to think there is a conflict somewhere with the theme or possibly a plugin that I have not been able to locate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would look for any remove_actions in functions.php or a file called from functions.php.
Removing a core Genesis action isn't something that happens by itself. Someone or something would have had to add code to do this.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?May 16, 2018 at 5:15 pm #219982AnitaKeymasterOpen up your style.css file. Look at the very bottom. That shouldn't be in the style.css file. It should be in the functions.php file.
add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'theme_menu_extras', 10, 2 ); /** * Filter menu items, appending either a search form or today's date. * * @param string $menu HTML string of list items. * @param stdClass $args Menu arguments. * * @return string Amended HTML string of list items. */ function theme_menu_extras( $menu, $args ) { //* Change 'primary' to 'secondary' to add extras to the secondary navigation menu if ( 'secondary' !== $args->theme_location ) return $menu; //* Uncomment this block to add a search form to the navigation menu ob_start(); get_search_form(); $search = ob_get_clean(); $menu .= '<li class="right search">' . $search . '</li>'; */ //* Uncomment this block to add the date to the navigation menu /* $menu .= '<li class="right date">' . date_i18n( get_option( 'date_format' ) ) . '</li>'; */ return $menu; }

May 16, 2018 at 7:10 pm #219984heartwiredtechMemberI am not finding any "remove_actions" in the functions.php file.
May 16, 2018 at 7:11 pm #219985heartwiredtechMemberI moved the code from the style.css to the functions.php as suggested and no apparent change. Blog titles still missing.
May 16, 2018 at 8:19 pm #219986AnitaKeymasterAs Victor suggested, look at your functions to see if something like this has been added:
//* Remove the entry title (requires HTML5 theme support) remove_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_do_post_title' );
If not, you should deactivate your plugins. You can start by deactivating the Bloom plugin and then any others that are not recommended with your theme.

remove_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_do_post_title' ); on line 260 of the functions.php. No idea how it got there but thank you that worked the titles are back! -
