Best Workflow to create genesis child theme from scratch

Hello there 😉

Sorry for this newbie question, but i'm trying to figure out what is the best workflow to design a Genesis Child Theme from scratch ?

I know a lot of HTML5/CSS3 design frameworks, read some posts on converting Foundation or Bootstrap templates to Genesis and so on, but as i want to start from scratch and with a "PSD" like way, what is the best options for me ?

What do i have to care about in order to correctly start my templates in Photoshop ? I read that a good starting point would be the Genesis Sample Theme , but what if i need to extend the the core functionalities and design it in a good way ?

Is there any starter PSD files in order to take care of all that and then integrate my own needs ?

Tell me if i'm wrong, but none of the Premium Child theme fits my needs and i think i really have to start from the basics in order to complete my project.

Hi there

in order to create a theme, whether from scratch, modify and existing theme, psd to genesis, the process is all the same

all you need is Firefox with firebug installed

a ftp client like FireFTP

and a HTML editor such as HTML-Kit, or coda whatever your favorite one is.

you will also need Photoshop to open psd files, and to grab and graphics that may be required for the theme.

but that's it, the rest comes down to skill and knowledge.
