    As you can see on my site: http://www.behindthepaintthemovie.com I am using just the Welcome Message widget and a background image to make up my home page. However, down below where the homepage content would normally be, it leaves a BIG whitespace.

    How can I remove the content area where the homepage content would normally be?

    Thanks.

    Scott.

    The reason you have a blank space is because the welcome message is positioned relative at a negative 680px. This is causing an empty space at the bottom. I assume you added this additional styling yourself.

    welcome-message {
        position: relative;
        top: -680px;
        margin: 0 auto;
        z-index: 200;
    }

    I think blog posts will appear at the bottom of the home page with this particular theme. You can remove them by adding the following line of code to a front-page.php template. Or should be able to add it to the conditional statement that outputs the welcome message.

    //* Remove the default Genesis loop
    remove_action( 'genesis_loop', 'genesis_do_loop' );
