MemberI have turned off the Hero area and wish to add a full-width slider in the first widget area on the front page to act as a header. I'm currently using Soliloquy or Slideshows (Stefan Boonstra). The slideshows are widgetized.
I figured out how to add a full-width slider area ABOVE the header, but then it shows even on landing pages. I want it only on the front page. I'm currently working on a test site - thankfully, since I've made a big mess a few times.
I've read all the replies for other themes but they include code (to modify) not found in Authority Pro.
Please help?
This seems such a common question it would be nice if Studiopress created a simple solution in a plugin that could be used in any of their themes.

ParticipantIn my Authority Pro test site, I dragged a test widget into Front Page 1 widget area and can see the widget on the homepage.
I then visited a landing page (a static Page that uses Landing Template) and do NOT see the front page widget.
In other words, it works as expected.
Can you provide the URL of a landing page in your site where the problem can be seen?

MemberI have an above-header slider working just fine at full width but it is on all pages, including landing page: https://www.valeriecomer.com/test2/subscribe/
I also have a widget in Front Page Widget One area: https://www.valeriecomer.com/test2/ The problem is THIS widget is not full-width. I want it to be. Then I'll remove the other one above the header.
I broke the site menu below the header slider a few minutes ago. Working to get that back. It's been a day.

ParticipantThe reason for this is because .site-inner has a max-width of 1200px and .front-page-1 is inside it.
To have a full-width slider appear below the header, you would need to use the genesis_after_header hook and add the PHP code for displaying the slider.
Can you provide the PHP code for showing your slider? You should be able to find this when you edit the slider.

MemberFor anyone searching how to put a Soliloquy slider into the before or after header area of any Genesis theme, the code to do so is found here: https://wpsites.net/web-design/academy-pro-slider-before-header/
My original question was how to widen the first front page widget area to accommodate a full-width slider, but the result using the instructions and code in this video and tutorial did the same thing visually.
I'd already spent days trying to find the above code via google and somehow this page eluded me. But I'm very happy with the results now and will soon be able to transfer all the info to my live site.
