I recently added the author box code snippets to the functions.php file in my theme Magazine Pro and I added the author box CSS to my stylesheet. As per these snippets.

    Author Box

I have both check boxes checked under my user profile for author box and on the individual post I have the user selected, but I don't see the author box at the bottom of the post. I only see a byline at the top with a link to the users archive. This byline is setup via simple edits.

    Here's an example:

Any thoughts as to why pyxie doesn't display at the bottom?

Which code from the SP snippets did you use? Point me to what you actually copied/pasted to functions.

I pulled all of this code.

The PHP I pasted into functions.php in Magazine Pro and the CSS I added to the stylesheet.

Did you put all of that in there? The author box has always been a part of the posts, you just needed to activate it on the user profile. If you put that last part that says "Remove" - you've actually removed it.

Duh...I did put all of it in there. I removed the "remove" code but left everything else.

    It's still not showing.

It comes up for the archives but not on the post even though both boxes are checked.

Here's the thing - you didn't need to put any of that in there. Not sure why you did.

Remove those code snippets all together and view it.

The reason I added the snippets is because it wasn't showing and so after doing some research I came across that code.

I've removed it and the author box still doesn't show. The only plugin I have running besides the Genesis authored plugin is Akismet and Social icons.

    Any ideas???

    Disable the Contact Form 7.

Just disabled. Now refreshing, clearing cache, etc. Still no change but I'll try disabling the other plugins.

I cannot figure out why it's not show. Just make sure they are checked on the user profile. I would suggest putting in a ticket with Studiopress via my.studiopress.com if you are still having problems.

This has little to do with the original post, but I wanted to say thank you.

I was having difficulty turning off the Author Box on individual posts, but this thread helped me figure out how to accomplish this task.
