Hi,
I tried installing Apparition and ended up with ovals instead of circles for my front page. Do you have any ideas on how to correct this?

I'm not sure if this is your answer, but you can try uploading a square version of the image, or selecting a different sized featured image size in Genesis settings. The problem from what I can see is that you have a border radius of 50% on all four corners but the image itself is 300 x 200 pixels, so it is creating ovals instead of circles.
BUT - I don't know this theme well enough to be sure, it's just something you can try to troubleshoot. If it solves your problem, that's your answer, and you can let the community here know about it.
