Announcement Widget Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a plugin that would post brief announcements or highlight important information, such as new program deadlines, reminders, etc.?

I installed and tried out Gopiplus' "Continuous Announcement Scroller" and "News Announcement Scoll", but they are both limited in their own way and are difficult for a neophyte to customize and style.

I'm looking for something that will be easy to use (my client will keep this updated), and customize. It's for a bilingual site so I also need a plugin that provides a translation function or support WPML.

Can anyone help?

Thank you, Kellylise for the nice list. Foobar seems to offer the most styling and usage options, but the genesis bacon bar will also be useful for another client's site.
