Forgive the basic question - I'm a C#/Java developer - turned consultant. Playing with WordPress themes isn't a major part of my skillset.

Given that Genesis 3.0 builds in support for AMP - https://studiopress.blog/genesis-3-0-released/ - does that mean that any child theme I install in the Genesis framework gets AMP support baked in for free?

I ask because our current site breaks all AMP plugins. As we rebuild it from scratch I want to make sure new decisions don't repeat mistakes of the past.

Genesis Amp support allows child themes to work with the official WordPress Amp plugin. It does not provide Amp features apart from the plugin.

Victor - thanks for the quick reply.

Background - our current theme (Phoenix by Goodlayers) was heavily customized by our previous developer. It served us well for 5+ yrs. However recently we've discovered that either the theme or the customization are killing us as we attempt to move support AMP. (Our google rank dropped in part because of missing AMP support in May).

So as I we migrate the website to a new theme, I want to ensure that avoid creating traps.

The Studiopress website leads me to believe that only one theme is "AMP-Ready": https://my.studiopress.com/themes/essence/. Without understanding the mechanics of AMP or having seen the code for the theme - is that just something that is missing from other themes? or is there something special about EssencePro?

    Thanks in advance
    Mark - mostly human
