    I am modifying the AgentPress Search plugin to create a search box (as opposed to a pulldown menu search). I have done that by adding "textbox" in place of the word "hidden" to the code below. It works.

    The search box that this generates is blank. I want it to say "enter zip code" or something similar. I added "ENTER ZIP HERE" to the field, also shown in the code below. It displays the text, but does not work as I had hoped.

    When you click on the search box, you have to highlight the entire "ENTER ZIP HERE" phrase or it remains and the zip code being entered is added to everything not highlighted. This does not work well on touch screens. I would like the search box to display "enter zip here," but have that automatically disappear when the search box is clicked. How do I accomplish that?

    echo '<form role="search" method="get" id="searchform" action="' . home_url( '/' ) . '" ><input type="textbox" value="ENTER ZIP HERE" name="s" /><input type="hidden" value="listing" name="post_type" />';

    I wanted to see if anyone had a suggestion for this problem. How to get the value to disappear when the search box is cleared. If that cannot be done, I need some way to inform the user what it is I want them to put in the box (i.e. a zip code). If I could use a transparent image in the search box or where to add instructions in the black part surrounding the search boxes. Any solution is appreciated.
