    Hi,

I have been working on a website that uses the original Agency theme (not Agency Pro).

I added a custom field that would allow me to add page and post specific header images. Since the layout makes use of the responsive slider on the Home page, I cannot seem to prevent the header image for individual blog posts to also appear on the Home page, on top of the slider - see at http://www.sarahpowers.com/new/. Alternatively I can choose not to show a header image for an individual blog post, which would break the site layout.

Any input or feedback that anyone might have would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you had a better suggestion for incorporating customized header images for individual pages/posts.

    Thank you,
    Conny

I would use a plugin for this like WP Display Headers

Otherwise you can use the featured image meta bx to display header images.

You could also use the theme_mod_header_image filter if using the Custom Header image function for your default header image http://wpsites.net/web-design/filter-custom-header-images-conditionally/

Thank you for your feedback, Brad, and pointing out alternative methods for using header images. I will consider them for future projects... for the time being my issue with the mentioned site has been resolved.

    Thanks again,
    Conny

Conny I just looked at the site you were working on - sarahpowers.com/new. I've been trying to get the slideshow like you have on there. What did you use, or how did you code it? I'm working with Enterprise Pro, but I would imagine things would be similar. I want to be able to just use images, and not blog posts.

    Thanks!

Thanks Mayur. How do I configure it so that it it doesn't "slide" the images, but act like it does in Conny's website? How can I use just images, and not blog posts?

    Thanks for your quick reply!

    Hi Becky,

Yes, I did use the genesis slider that Mayur pointed to. In WP admin, under Genesis > Slider Settings you can define what images, transition (Slide vs. Fade), etc. that you want to use. If you want to exclude images from posts, you could choose "Include" and list all the pages from which the "featured" image should be included. I hope this makes sense.

    Good luck!

Thank you Conny I didn't notice the "fade" button before. Do you know if there is a way to use specific images from the media library, and not pages or posts?

    Thanks again!

    Hi Betty.

No, unfortunately I do not know how or if it's possible to choose images from the media library with this plugin. Maybe you can find some information in the plugin's Support Forum?

    Good luck again.
    Conny
