    Hi,

    Q: How can I insert text widget inside the genesis_header, above genesis_header_right?

    My current attempt, I am able to insert it above the header. However, I would like it inside the header banner.

    Thanks in advance,
    Arthur

    You can put 2 widgets in the one widget area.

    Then you can float the content to the left or right of the custom menu in the same widget area.

    Example http://wpsites.net/web-design/display-header-right-widget-custom-menu-social-icons-in-line/

    But i think you want the text above the custom menu correct? This will work if you place both widgets in the header right widget area. You may like to change the font color for the text.

    .header-widget-area .textwidget {
    color: #fff;
    }

    Yes! That's correct.

    Currently, if you click on the link Login (above header), slider covers the header. If I have the banner inside the header, the slide will move the header lower, which is the effect I desire.

    What plugin are you using for the drop down login?

    I am using -- Create a Utility Bar Above the Header in Genesis
    from here.

    Along with this code -- in functions.php

    $('.top_container .top .wrap').css('display', 'none')
    				$('.top_trigger').click(function(){
    					$('.top_container .top .wrap').slideToggle('slow');
    					return false;
    				});

    And what happens when you put that in a text widget in the header right widget area?

    I don't think you need the utility bar if you want it inside the header.

    Thanks for your advise. I made the change.

    Originally I wanted the login info to be on its own visual banner, horizontally across the page, white background...as a separate section.

    Slightly OT: would tell me how to insert the slider instead of the static background please (as you did on your website)?

    No problem. Just allow me few more days to complete the coding. And I will update my progress here.
