Hi everyone I would like to know how I can filter the search form with taxonomies (categories). What I would like to do is have check boxes below the search form where a user can select a category or multiple categories and when they search a term only posts in those categories show up. How can I accomplish this?

    Hi,
Not everyone knows that WordPress doesn't do a great job on search for various reasons, probably mostly having to do with database structure.

You could try this, which has Categories and Tags and allows a "faceted" search :

Other approaches involve getting set up with a 3rd party to make search better.

    Good luck,
    Dave
