    Two and a half problems.

    1. Working on a site http://nextwkslook.com/ where uploaded pictures are going to usually be portrait styled.
The home page does great with landscape but not portraits - How can I make the homepage display the full thumbnail image in portrait format?

    2. When it comes to the picture in the post itself (i.e. http://nextwkslook.com/flower/) I would like it to also show the full image, not a cropped version. How do I fix that?

Question 2.5: When uploading a portrait style the image from a phone the image is automatically rotated to landscape. In post I can edit the image and rotate but is there a way to make this not happen?

Turns out the image on the home page is also cropped when uploaded from desktop
    Here's a post uploaded from phone: http://nextwkslook.com/flower/
    and one from desktop: http://nextwkslook.com/flower-2/

    Thanks!
    Mike

    1. Set your featured image size in your functions.php file.
    2. Set your post image sizes in your media settings.

    Thanks Susan -
I've now moved to another theme (non Genesis) in an effort to combat question 2.5
After a bunch more research it seems this is a common WP problem and not a Genesis issue at all.
