    I'm assisting someone who would like to have social media icons next to the search box on her primary nav menu.

    Theme: Vintage
    URL: http://www.katlatham.com

    I suggested she download the nav-menu-images plugin, which she has done, and her social media icons are in the menu, but she would like them to be closer to the search bar, rather than next to the nav. menu items.

    The plugin doesn't have a CSS file, so I'm figuring she would need to do some styling to her theme's stylesheet.

    Thoughts on the best way to do this?

    Thanks!

    I'd start here

    #menu-item-4376 {
    margin-left: 150px;
    }

    She could also make menu items for Facebook and Twitter and then replace the text for those menu items with the images.

    I suggested the plugin because I wasn't sure how to replace a text menu item with an image.

    David Decker has a much better plugin for Genesis for using to accomplish what you want.  He also has FAQ, Notes and Support threads which provide guidence on how to accomplish the alignment she seeks. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-social-profiles-menu/

    This thread is particularly helpful for the task -
