I wonder why this forum even exists when questions go unanswered.
Once upon a time, you did actually get support on Studio Press. I've uninstalled this theme, however you might still want to answer the question for the next person. And, I know the standard layout is full screen, just wanted to know if it could be changed. I got half way there but couldn't get the layout to work. Thanks for nothing.

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question, I was looking for an answer myself but I do agree with what you said here. When I first bought Studiopress, the help and support in the forum was amazing and there was always lots to share and learn. Since the growth of Studiopress and the change over, the support has been disappointing to say the least. Months often go by without someone answering a question or even acknowledging it. Studiopress has grown in popularity but this side of things not so much.

    What happened Studiopress?

I would like an answer to this also, There have been several times I would have liked to use this theme but needed a sidebar.

Hi everyone. I'm sorry to see you didn't get any responses.

The Whitespace theme is obviously not designed to be used with a sidebar. If you wanted a sidebar, you probably should have selected a different theme. You can add a sidebar to the Whitespace theme, but it will require a LOT of code and time, which I would not be prepared to give away for free.

    Hi Carlo,
Thank you, however I have used another theme since then. I was only asking a question.
Here's the thing with Studio Press.
About 6-7 years ago, I bought the full package - a lifetime of themes!! About a year later, something changed, I can't remember what, and I had to pay $200- $300 more to keep the 'lifetime of themes'. Did that. A year or two rolls on, suddenly what appears in the theme list are '3rd party themes'..not included in the 'lifetime of themes'. Okay, no worries, I've bought about 3 without complaint.

And I'm not complaining now. I have not received, or expected much for free from Studio Press. I get tons of emails about their other add on's with 'lifetime' options, but I don't even look at them. A 'lifetime' is a pretty short time with Studio Press. But, that's the way of things, and I accept that.

What Studio Press used to offer was theme support for their products. That's gone. So, I wanted to ask about Whitespace. I could see it was designed without a sidebar. What I also see, from the answers on this thread, is that others (who perhaps signed up for the 'Lifetime of Themes', would like to use it with a sidebar. What Studio Press could do, is serve their customers, who at some stage, helped them build a company large enough to sell off. They could hire you to create Whitespace in 2 versions, one with the sidebar, and one without.

So Carlo, perhaps you could pass this message along to whoever owns Studio Press now. You might get some work out of it and Studio Press might provide some choice to their loyal customers who bought, and bought their'Lifetime of Themes'.

    Regards Kim Smith
