My site is http://www.reputationmanager.me, and I use the Mindstream child theme. I also own the Balance theme, which has a portfolio feature.

Can I add a portfolio page and the corresponding widget to the Mindstream theme? My Balance theme has the necessary code, but I'm not sure whether it can be added to other themes? If so, is it relatively straightforward (I'm a newbie and in way over my head) or would that require me to hire a developer.

I realize there are third-party plugins too. Are there any that StudioPress recommends?

Any feedback you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Sure. Anything you find in one theme will work in another. You'll need the page template, the sidebar registration and Add_image_size functions from functions.php and the corresponding style rules.
