I'm trying to add an interface where a member on my site can go and put in the name of the food they ate and the database will come back with its number of calories. (It's more complicated than this with other queries but that's basically it.) Can this be done with the SQL database that's already part of WordPress with maybe a query or ?? Or will I need a separate database such as Access or ??

I've searched everywhere to find the answer to this question but I can't. I think I'm just missing a simple point about how WP works but I'm not sure.

    Thanks for your help,
    Dianne

You might want to post on the general WordPress support site or maybe in the WordPress Facebook group.
