    Something like the email signup at the sample: http://genesisframework.com

    I could use negative margins and the standard text box in the WordPress widget dashboard, but are there any better more "correct" ways to do this with the Genesis framework?

    Help is much appreciated!

    Mathias,

    What are you specific to when you say 'Negative Margins'? Structure?

    For example the top right widget I`ve got on my site:

    <code>

    <div id="obog_signup_widget_sidebar" style="margin: -4rem;">...</div>

    </code>

    I`ve had to specify a negative margin to hide the other elements.

    I understand. Does it seem to work well in all browsers and mobile? I don't really see much wrong with it. Unless someone can point out a reason not to do it.

    Looks ok fram what I see, but there`s probably a better way of doing it with genesis functions.

    Did you want the widget after single posts?

    If so, try this http://www.briangardner.com/email-newsletter-signup-box/

    Or here's the same thing with different styling http://www.wpstuffs.com/add-newsletter-widget-below-content-genesis-child-themes/

    Thanks for the suggestion, but I want the widget in the sidebar. I guess what I`m trying to say is that I`m looking for a solution that will allow me to add custom widgets to the sidebar (without all the structural wrap around that adds padding etc...). I want to add custom css to that particular widget block if that makes sense.

    I think the solution is to use Negative Margins.If anybody have better option please share it.

    I noticed the widget boxes were labeled with different IDs:

    #text-8 {
    padding: 0px;
    }

    Mathias,

    The IDs can change if widgets are added or removed, so be cautious when styling a widget by ID. It should have a css class unique to that widget type available.
