Tagged: tag menus
I want a primary menu item to use a certain tag, rather than say a category to display all posts that have same tag. A page of tagged posts if you will. An even better option would be to only display posts under a specfic category and specific tag.
The menu would look a bit like this:
-- Cycling <- this the tag I want to use
Just looking at the custom menu, I don't see a top level tag option listed, although the article below seems to indicate this is possible
Can you help please.https://westerdale.blog
If you just wanted to use one or more categories, it would be pretty easy. The Genesis Framework allows you to set a query_args value as a custom field: https://victorfont.com/use-query_args-filter-wordpress-posts/
Since you want to include a taxonomy tag as well, it becomes a little more complicated. It requires some custom programming. Perhaps this will help you: https://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query
Thanks for your reply. Yes cagegories menu item is easy, I have temporarily added a category menu item to the my blog site menu ( category = "Keeping Fit") . Now, I want to replace this with my desired tag, but still rollup the same posts. Anyway, before I go down the programming route ( function.php or my own site plugin) , what does puzzle me there is a Tags option in the Menu customiser. However, it is empty 🙁 , why is this? . Note, it is pity you can't upload attachments on this forum as pictures say a thousand words.....
Just realised that the Tags Option is becuse I have installed the link Library plugin ( which has its own taxonomy).
