I tried several methods of adding a grid loop to the free Copyblogger theme. I used two different plugins and tried adding the grid loop to a home.php file that I created. None of these methods worked. I have categories listed in the menu bar, and have the pages set to the blog template, pulling in post based on category.

I was able to get the search results to produce a grid layout, although it didn't look very appealing. But I have not been able to get these blog category pages to display in grid layout at all.

So my question is if this Copyblogger theme is just not suited to the grid layout and I should abandon the attempt?

The right code will work on any theme so its not the theme.

I think it might be due to the fact that I am pulling in the blog page based on categories. I used this method:

Set the page template to 'blog'.

    Set the custom fields:

    query_args cat='id'

As I said, it does work for the search results (although it looks a little strange). I am now trying a different theme with the same result.

What you can do is use CSS to display your posts in a grid

The grid loop works in the home.php file.
