Or a widget area like the slider area in magazine child theme, keeping the sidebar.
    Thanks

Please copy the code from the view raw link and paste it at the end of your child themes functions.php file using a text editor like Notepad++

This widget outputs on the home page only.

You can remove or change the conditional tag and hook position to suit your own needs.

    Hey Brad

So sorry to bother you ... and also more than happy to pay for your help with this one 🙂

I am using the Jane (community) theme

If you visit: http://stylecrush.com.au/ you can see where I have inserted an image below the header using your lovely code.

Unfortunately my image has broken the home page a little (if you look at the inside pages you will see that the content and sidebar widgets are 'separated' but on the home page they are not). And also the footer is appearing in the sidebar on the home page.

Any assistance would be gratefully accepted and also happily paid for 🙂

    Thank you!
    Kelly

    Kelly

Please send me the login details using the contact form on my site and i will take a look first. http://wpsites.net/contact/

Its actually a really simple fix.

The code i supplied in the above Gist was written for themes running XHTML and doesn't work properly in sites running HTML 5.

I have now updated the Gist so it should fix the problems if you change this code. Otherwise, i will take a look in the files for you.
