Hello! I'm using Genesis Framework theme version 2.1.2 and I can't find for the life of me how to simply add a logo for the theme? Does anyone have any suggestions? Why does Genesis make it so difficult to do something so simple and needed by everyone?

    Thanks!

Which theme are you using? Most themes allow you to add a header image by going to Dashboard > Appearance > Header.

If that does not resolve your issue, can you please identify which theme you are using, and include a link to your site.

    Hello Susan,

Thanks for the response, but like I mentioned in my original message, I'm using Genesis Framework theme version 2.1.2. Just so we're on the same page, this is the theme I am using: http://my.studiopress.com/themes/genesis/

I'm used to child themes having Dashboard > Appearance > Header, but the Genesis Framework does not have that.

The site is not live so I can not provide a link.

    Thanks!

    Sinoun:

Since it's recommended that you NEVER use the Genesis framework without a child theme, I assumed you were using a child theme, which is why I asked.

I'm not going to make a recommendation to add code to the Genesis framework, but if you had a child theme which doesn't have custom header functionality (for example, the Sample theme?), then you can add it in by following this tutorial:

Gotcha. I didn't know you shouldn't use Genesis Framework without a child theme. Thanks for the info! I decided to go with a different theme. I appreciate your time!

You're welcome. Yeah, you shouldn't touch the Genesis framework files, because they will be over-written with an update to the Framework. The Sample theme is the recommended theme to use if you want to build your own theme - it's based on the framework, and is the bare bones to get you started.
