I'd like to add a full width subscription bar like the one in green on http://www.marieforleo.com - am using Parallax Pro.

The subscription service is via MailChimp, if that makes any difference. I know there are plugins to add MC boxes to widgets but it's done in the styling and won't lay out horizontally the way I want.

I'm thinking I have to register a new widget, but I'm stuck on the exact code for it and how to hook it in.

You can do this with a few snippets and Genesis eNews Extended plugin using this fresh tutorial.
MailChimp setup is straightforward.
