I can't seem to find any reference to importing the widgets as set up on the demo site. Would be a time saver for me. Is this available with this theme?

There's no widget import. The HTML for widgets using HTML is available in the theme's setup instructions. https://my.studiopress.com/documentation/academy-pro-theme/
