Hi,

I am trying to performance optimize my new website:
http://www.culturalstrategy.org/

But have some trouble. When I do a speed test, and look in the waterfall, I have a 404 error that slows the site down.

How do I solve this problem?

There's something wrong with the way the theme is calling the Google fonts. For some reason, your site url and the Google font url are getting appended together.

I couldn't tell you without looking at code. The balance theme is one of the old pre-HTML5 themes. I have it on my local setup. The Google font is loaded in style.css. I would probably take it out of style.css and use the wp_enqueue_style function in functions.php as the newer themes do.

I have removed it from the style.css, but there are still an error.

Any idea why?

It's still doing the same thing. This is the URL its trying to load: http://www.culturalstrategy.org/wp-content/themes/balance/%E2%80%8Bhttp:/fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lora:400,700. Those encoded characters translate to â € ‹. Whatever is happening, they shouldn't be there. They are probably invisible characters that came from cutting and pasting something from a WordProcessor.
