Okay, thanks for the explanation. I guess that answers the size question as well since it is being used only in the widget. I can size for the widget and use another image for the Add Media.

Last night, I switched from a page (type) to a post (type) and the featured image appeared on the home page. However, the featured image does not show up on the About page (post). I had to use the Add Media feature to put a picture in the post.
Can you or anyone else offer advice on my other questions?
First, please tell the size to make the Featured image on full-width and content-sidebar pages.
Second, I have a featured image on a full width post type page and a page, but the featured image is not displaying. I've had to resort to using the Add Media feature. What am I doing wrong?
Please help.
