Hi,
I must admit that I found this issue a bit tricky. I am not a programmer and finally decided to seek help from Brad Dalton.
I have never met Brad but I have read his many posts and free advice given in this forum so I decided to pay for his assistance something I did not regret!Brad definitely knows his way around WP, he is extremely helpful and replies to emails very fast. When more clarification was needed we settled the questions using Hangout and issues were solved immediately.
Bottom line is that if you are really stuck and need a problem solved fast, don't hesitate but pay the $47 for one month support at http://wpsites.net/registration/, it is worth it. (And I normally do not make recommendations)
Have a great day.
TrineMemberHi Brad,
I am not too sure exactly how to do it and would really like some more detailed instruction. Is it possible to pay for your assistance on this one? Please send me an email at [email protected] with a quote. I have previously treasured your free advice and I am happy to pay for it.
TrineMemberHi Erik,
Yes, that is exactly what I want.
I still consider myself new to modifying WP code maybe that is why I am struggling.....June 2, 2015 at 12:46 am in reply to: How to add text under portfolio image in Executive Pro #154499TrineMemberYou are absolutely right, it did affect my entire site!
BUT - with your generous advice, it seems to have been fixed.
You deserve a huge thank you. I am so grateful.
TrineMemberThanks you so much. If others can benefit from it, I just want to let you know that having absolutely no knowledge about hooks, I installed the following two plugins:
1. Genesis Visual Hook Guide
2. Genesis Simple HooksI then inserted <?php the_excerpt(); ?> into the genesis_entry_content Hook and although I still have a bit of work to do, it looks like this: http://tseconsult.com/portfolio/
Which means that I can now use the excerpt field on the portfolio pages to add text to the portfolio archive page.
A huge thank you to Brad Dalton as I would never have moved on to using hooks without his comment.
TrineMemberThanks a lot. Much appreciated.
TrineMemberA huge thank you from me. I just cannot believe I have missed this detail as I have been looking at the code for about an hour checking for errors.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
TrineMemberThank you ever so much, the second part of the answer solved my problem. Thank you!
