I can still use some assistance...

I added the following to my theme's functions.php file:

function exclude_category($query) {
if ( $query->is_home() ) {
$query->set( 'cat', '-35 -36' );
}
return $query;
}
add_filter( 'pre_get_posts', 'exclude_category' );

and now I'm receiving a "Sorry, no content matched your criteria." on the home page. Is there a better way to hide all blog posts from the site's front page?
