    thank you ren. I tried it but it was giving me fatal error. I guess, because it resulted in a 500 internal error. I don't have to use that code 'exactly'. I have known it to work on a regular theme. I see that genesis themes are coded differently and I'm learning to get used to them.

    thank you for your response. I think it's pointless to click on a thumbnail to be directed to an image that is hardly larger. having to do another click is poor usability. the article in question is at this url:

    he added extra field for the photographer and his url. I'm not sure I need all of that. my previous theme (responsive) provided just the title, an image that was about 532px by 726px and exif data. I don't even think that exif is that important. desirable, maybe. essential no. thank you for looking into this.
