Deactivated 8 plugins, and also deactivated the two cache programs (WP-Super Cache & WP Widget Cache). No difference.

For me, it takes about ~4-5 seconds to load the slider

Thank you!. That did the trick. Turns out i was looking in the magazine css file yesterday instead of the genesis. Made the changes to the Genesis CSS file, and it works perfectly.
