sanjeevParticipant
here is the customized code which will only display Author in the by line...
add_filter( 'genesis_post_info', 'post_info_filter' ); function post_info_filter($post_info) { if ( !is_page() ) { $post_info = 'By [post_author_posts_link]'; return $post_info; }}
If you want to add anything more you can add it after [post_author_posts_link].
sanjeevParticipantok, in that case you can use the code mentioned in the link I mentioned:
http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/post-info/#customize
Just remove the '[post_date] by' from the $post_info and it should stop displaying date....
sanjeevParticipantIf you are talking about the date shown in byline, then you can customize it through a function...Example code snippet can be found at http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/post-info/#customize
Let me know what you want to show and I can give you the code to copy it child function.php file.....
sanjeevParticipantThanks for the feedback, I have already got the premium image for the site but has removed it as my earlier image was in blue and was not going with the theme.....I am working on the next one.....will change it soon.....
sanjeevParticipantI just checked and looks like your site is still down....do you have FTP access, I would suggest to remove the error prone code from the function.php.....
You can download the function.php via ftp and delete the function and upload it so at least your site can work correctly.....
For the error, does all these spaces are there in function.php or it is just a typo here....
sanjeevParticipantDidn't knew about the Genesis Community on Google plus, thanks for the tip...will join...
sanjeevParticipantYou can check the below thread, I have given the css to increase the width of widget there...you can change the values accordingly
http://www.studiopress.community/topic/468px-banner-in-metro-theme-header-area/
sanjeevParticipantsanjeevParticipantLooks like a redirect is setup for your author page, even the URL is not taking it to the correct page.....are you using any redirection plugin....Doesn't looks like an issue because of genesis or Metro, some other plugin is messing it up...
sanjeevParticipantYou will not get pagination if you are using widgets on the home page, you can check it at your category or archive page to see if its working...
sanjeevParticipantI have not tested the code but I think you can use the hook genesis_after_endwhile, use the below code to remove the genesis default pagination:
remove_action( 'genesis_after_endwhile', 'genesis_posts_nav' );
After that you can add a new function to add your plugin
add_action( 'genesis_after_endwhile', 'custom_posts_nav' ); function custom_posts_nav() { if(function_exists('wp_simple_pagination')) { wp_simple_pagination(); } }
I am on road for next two days, if this doesn't work by then, I will provide the tested code...
sanjeevParticipantThat will require some custom coding to modify the layout.....It will auto stretch based on where you are, like if you click on 3 you will see 1-5 pages as text....to spread it to complete page, I don't have an idea, will try to find some code for it.....
sanjeevParticipantI hope you know that you can get the numbered pagination by changing the settings under theme settings.
Theme Settings --- > Content Archive --- > Post Navigation technique
Change it to numeric to get the numbered paging system and it will be in sync with theme colors...
if you still want to do it, let me know..I will find the code for you...
sanjeevParticipantGlad you have got it sorted. Always disable cache plugins if you are trying to make some design changes....they always create delays in showing the results....
sanjeevParticipantHi Mike, Where exactly you added the html..in the recent post widget title or in the style.css file, if its the widget title than drop that widget to the left top section in widget admin screen, it will clear any settings and start again. Also make sure that the cache is cleaned up.
sanjeevParticipantOk, I have changed it to show it correctly on my site http://makewebworld.com, still work in progress but that piece is working fine.
Here are the changes which I have done in the style.css :
1) Find header .widget-area and split that section as mentioned below:
.footer-widgets-1,
.footer-widgets-2,
.footer-widgets-3,
.sidebar,
.subnav-left {
width: 31.111111111%; /* 336px / 1080px */
}#header .widget-area {
width: 43.333333333%; /* 468px / 1080px */
}2) Find title-area and split that as mentioned below:
.content-sidebar #content,
.sidebar-content #content {
width: 65.555555555%; /* 708px / 1080px */
}#title-area {
width: 53.333333333%; /* 576px / 1080px */
}Once it is running fine, you can check it at http://www.studiopress.com/responsive/ for responsiveness.
Thanks,
Sanjeev
