So, I figured out how to change THAT text.
input[type="submit"], input[type="text"], input[type="email"], input[type="url"], input[type="password"], input[type="search"], textarea {
color: #fff !important;
}The only problem left now, is my drop down box. The starting text is white, but when I click it, the menu drops down and the original text turns black. I haven't been able to find how to fix this.
raziel0315MemberWell, that, somehow, worked. But now, for some reason, all of the text in every box on the site changes color when you start typing. It's now dark grey. So, you can't read what you're typing. I can't find where to change the color. Any ideas? Thanks.
raziel0315MemberSo, I just accidentally highlighted that bar.
It says Archives for Feb 2016
Thoughts?raziel0315MemberThanks for responding.
Will using this code take the box out completely or will it just make it invisible and leave a space in it's place?
I would prefer to just be rid of it.
I used Genesis on a different site, and that one DOESN'T have that silly white bar.
I don't know where it came form.
It's only on the post page itself.raziel0315MemberThat worked.
Thanks much.raziel0315MemberSorry.
The search box in the primary sidebar: the one above the countdown.I don't have access to the site you shared.
raziel0315MemberIt seems I was referring to a Genesis customizer.
In it, there is a setting to reduce the padding around the header.
If you want to try it, the plugin is called Genesis Super Customizer.
It just doesn't have the header width in it that I need, for some reason.In my experience, if you're worried about responsiveness at all,
I wouldn't change the value manually.
I tried the same thing with my background image and ended up going in the wrong direction.Speaking of responsiveness, when I went to your site, your header image was cut off at the dark blue egg.
Was that intentional?raziel0315MemberAmy,
did you try reducing the padding on the header?
I'm a little new to this, but that seems like what you're talking about.On a side note, what is the name of the custom header you're using?
I'm trying to get my header image to go all the way across the page, like yours is,
but I can't find anything useful.raziel0315MemberThe problem has been solved, with a plugin, and little of your help.
I found a plugin titled: add background size.
It seems to have done the job.
It gives the extra option for the background size: cover.
I figured that's the one that would work since you mentioned it.The mobile version looks a little better, but still looks like garbage.
Not much to do about that, but, thanks.You can really see a difference on my other page, http://www.halloweencrossroads.com
I still have the issue with my site title going all squirrely on the odd spoon.
I did another post for it. If you have any ideas, I would appreciate the help.Thanks
raziel0315MemberShouldn't the image adapt to different screen sizes?
I set up the site on my home computer, and I used a certain image of a certain size, with a certain look.
It looks really good one my computer. Shouldn't it look equally as good on a different computer?
Hardly anyone is going to have the same screen size that my monitor has. So, the image should adapt, like zooming out.
The Super Customizer doesn't customize the background. That's all in the theme.
I looked for what you were talking about in the plugin itself, and there's nothing there for the background.As I said yesterday, "I just added Genesis to another site of mine, without any plugins, and the problems persists.
So, it can’t be the plugins."I suppose I'll have to get my money back and use a different theme.
Thanks
raziel0315MemberThanks for the response.
I added the code you suggested. The image doesn't change resolution to fit other devices.
My gf's computer screen is a bit smaller and the image looks like shit on hers.
I just added Genesis to another site of mine, without any plugins, and the problems persists.
So, it can't be the plugins.I don't know what you mean by changing it "inside" the customizer.
As for the link you posted, I don't understand. It's just an image. Why should it be so different fixed vs scroll?
Thanks
raziel0315MemberI think part of the problem is how it reacts on a mobile device, too.
If I look at the same site on my phone, the image isn't fixed anymore, like it should be.
It's supposed to stay in place as the viewer scrolls down the page.
If I scroll down on my phone, I get a lot of white space instead.raziel0315MemberI assume you mean I should place this code in the style.css.
I looked through the whole thing, even did a search.
body.custom-background isn't there, neither are any of the commands you listed in that method.Should I add the whole thing?
raziel0315MemberSorry. The theme installed is the Genesis, with the Sample child.
Thanks
raziel0315MemberI found the percentages to make the site look the same on MY computer, but, unfortunately, the responsiveness is still crap on smaller resolutions. What happening now, on the smaller rezes, is the columns are all being squished into one space. Do you know what the code is to make the columns line up vertically when there isn't enough space?
raziel0315MemberI see now what you meant in your first post, but my goal from the beginning was to change the widths. As I said, they were wasting space on the sides. I tried putting percentages in place of pixels, but it didn't look the same. What resolution do you have?
raziel0315MemberNevermind. I got it. Thanks, though.
Is it better to have percentage instead of px so that the code adapts to different size monitors?
Here's the code I ended up with:
.site-inner,
.wrap {
margin: 0 auto;
max-width: 1550px;
}/* Content Sidebar Wrap*/
.sidebar-content-sidebar .content-sidebar-wrap {
width: 1200px;
float: right;
}/* Content */
.sidebar-content-sidebar .content {
width: 800px;
}/* Primary Sidebar */
.sidebar-content-sidebar .sidebar-primary {
float: right;
width: 360px;
}/* Secondary Sidebar */
.sidebar-content-sidebar .sidebar-secondary {
float: left;
width: 300px;
}raziel0315MemberThanks, but ti didn't work.
Here's the code I've used so far:
/* Content Sidebar Wrap*/
.sidebar-content-sidebar .content-sidebar-wrap {
width: 1200px;
float: right;
}/* Content */
.sidebar-content-sidebar .content {
width: 800px;
}/* Primary Sidebar */
.sidebar-content-sidebar .sidebar-primary {
float: right;
width: 360px;
}/* Secondary Sidebar */
.sidebar-content-sidebar .sidebar-secondary {
float: left;
width: 300px;
}The content bar and the primary look good, but the secondary keeps getting shoved under the content. There is more than enough room on the page to get all three side by side without having to shrink any of them. It seems like the primary WON'T move to the right, and, therefore, keeps forcing the secondary off the page to the bottom. I made the Content Sidebar Wrap 1300px and all it did was move the content and primary further left instead of right.
raziel0315MemberMedia queries?
I'm only know a little about CSS.
Won't taking margin away from the right make the boxes move to the right?
