    You are kidding right? How is hard coding plugin functionality to a single child theme in any possible way a good thing for a client? You are basically locking the client into a single child theme?

    I appreciate what you are saying but consider the following which is why I added this post to this suggestions forum:

    1.) I use Studiopress so I can leverage professional development in their themes and plugins. DIY will not guarantee it will work with changes at a later time if I hack something out

    2.) This plugin replaces one problem with another potentially in that it's another 3rd party developer instead of Studiopress itself adding the functionality to the plugin supported BY Studiopress

    This functionality needs to be added or the cycle will just continue to repeat itself.

    I'm subscribing to this thread. This is exactly why relying on a plugin of a plugin to do what should be a basic feature of the ORIGINAL plugin is totally senseless and downright irresponsible to recommend as a "solution". This plugin of a plugin solution is now 2 years old and does NOT work correctly.

    This seems like a reasonable request and this forum is jam packed with this question asked every conceivable way that it took me 20 min. of sifting to just find this thread which was the most concise of the real problem...ie relying on a outdated plugin that no longer is working correctly to add a commonly requested feature.

    How can we have excluded categories added to the featured post widget?

    I only want my color styles to show up, not the default. It is confusing to the users. Is there a hook I can use to divert the default to one of my other styles or remove it?

    I already did this. I want to remove or use a different color style for the dropdown that says default. This is what I currently have, you’ll notice there is no reference to default.

    /** Create additional color style options */
    add_theme_support( 'genesis-style-selector', array( 'agentpress-gray' => 'Dark Blue/Gray', 'agentpress-blue' => 'Blue', 'agentpress-black' => 'Black/Silver') );
