OzzyMemberOzzyMember
this is one of the best tutorials out there on how to do this in genesis:
http://genesistutorials.com/how-to-add-a-logo-to-the-header/
OzzyMemberOzzyMemberyou can use negative numbers, but you'll need to be careful. since there is no more space in between the sections, reducing margins and paddings within the sections would probably be your best bet.
if you wanted to get rid of all of the blue space, be sure to set the margin: 0 in .menu-primary and .menu-secondary around line 304.
OzzyMemberwhen you open a post, scroll down for the 'Discussion' section.
if you don't see it, scroll back up to the top and click on 'Screen Options'. make sure that 'Discussions' is checked.
scroll back down and you should see if comments are enabled for that particular post.
OzzyMembersorry i got to the party so late, but it looks like you've figured it out.
please post again if you're still having some issue.
OzzyMemberhi lianam,
to reduce the space you'll need to edit your style.css in a couple of places.
around line 304, for the rule .menu-primary, menu-secondary change the margin to:
margin: 0;
around line 497, in the rule #inner, change the margin to:
margin: 0 auto;
hopefully that fixes your issue!

OzzyMembercomments can be disabled on a per-individual post basis. can you check to make sure that comments are enabled on the posts that you see them not showing up on?
April 7, 2013 at 9:46 pm in reply to: Adding a sticky ‘Back to top’ using jQuery impossible with Prose? #33870OzzyMemberYou could try adding this:
add_action( 'genesis_after', 'custom_backtotop_button', 1); function custom_backtotop_button() { echo '<div id="toTop">'; echo '^ Back to Top'; echo '</div>'; }
to the custom.php and it should add the div onto the page
April 4, 2013 at 10:59 am in reply to: Can't get site title area to move above left header widget area #33111OzzyMemberthe registering of the sidebar should be
genesis_register_sidebar(array( 'id'=>'header-left', 'name'=>'Header Left', 'description' => 'This is the Header Left Widget Area.', ));
then when calling it in the header, try
add_action ('genesis_header', 'header_left_widget_area', 5); function header_left_widget_area() { genesis_widget_area( 'header-left', array ( 'before' => '<div class="left-widget-area">', ) ); }
April 4, 2013 at 10:28 am in reply to: Can't get site title area to move above left header widget area #33102OzzyMembercan you post what how you're registering the widget area, the genesis_register_sidebar?
OzzyMemberahh... yes. it's probably better explained in a tutorial, which i think Carrie is working on.
you can set up widget areas and then call them based on the page using is_page or is_post conditionals. i'm sure she'll explain it all wonderfully!
OzzyMemberhi chris!
are you trying to use just a dark color instead of the grey pattern in the featured area and footer section or something else?
OzzyMemberFebruary 6, 2013 at 10:48 pm in reply to: How do I style Categories list in sidebar differently? #18578OzzyMemberOzzyMemberhi daniel,
in your css, find
.menu-twitter a {
and remove everything in that rule.
find
.menu li.facebook {
and remove everything in that rule.
add the following to your css:
.menu li.menu-twitter { background: url("http://uberblogging.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/social_twitter_box_blue_128-e1359321440170.png") no-repeat left center transparent; margin-left: 70px; padding-right: 10px; text-indent: -9999px; width: 40px; } .menu li.menu-facebook { background: url("http://uberblogging.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/social_facebook_box_blue_128-e1359322484918.png") no-repeat left center transparent; margin-left: -15px; text-indent: -9999px; width: 40px; }
i think that should fix the issue you're having.
OzzyMemberif you're meaning around the content area, which is to the lest of the sidebar:
.page #content, .post #content, .single #content { border: 1px solid #000; }
let us know if you were talking about something different.
January 23, 2013 at 3:04 am in reply to: Genesis Featured Widget Amplified date issue: URGENT #14014OzzyMemberglad i could be of assistance! (hugs and thank you's are always appreciated!)
if you haven't posted your issue on the actual plugin page in the wordpress repository, i would do so to make sure Nick is aware of the issue. if you have, i'm sure he'll get around to updating it properly in short order.
