I am also trying to put my menu directly below the slider, and have it map over the slider a bit.
Have you tried placing the "Custom Menu" widget in your "Home-Top" widget? Also, you could make a "menu-under-slider" widget and put the "Custom Menu" widget in it, if you're using home-top for something else.
The code that nunotmp is talking about is discussed here: http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/navigation-menus/#reposition-secondary. Maybe that can help you to get your menu in the right Genesis Simple Hook.
The hooks are laid out here: http://genesistutorials.com/visual-hook-guide/. So nuntmp was advising you to place your menu in the "genesis_before_content" hook.
These lines of code below are put at the end of your functions.php file in the Appearance->Editor. I'd advise reading about this before you try it. Then you can experiment putting your menu into different hooks until you get the one you want.
But I think the most simple thing to do is to put the Custom Menu widget into the home-top widget. Please let me know waht works for you!
remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_subnav' );
add_action( 'genesis_before_content', 'genesis_do_subnav' );michelefreeMemberHave you tried your genesis hooks? The hooks locations are explained at: http://genesistutorials.com/visual-hook-guide/
Then using the snippet of code below, you can move the secondary menu to the correct hook: http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/navigation-menus/#reposition-secondary
//* Reposition the secondary navigation menu
remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_subnav' );
add_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'genesis_do_subnav' );You replace "genesis_before_header" with the hook location you want to use.
Hope this helps!
August 26, 2015 at 3:13 pm in reply to: Moved secondary menu but it left the box behind-executive pro-need to erase box #163620michelefreeMemberI await your response. I've been working all day trying to figure out the secondary menu.
If I put the secondary menu as a location in secondary menu in the Appearance-Menus location, the menu is styled as I want it, like this:
If I add the secondary menu to the widget home-top or menu-under-slider (which I created from your comment), the menu looks like this (totally unstyled):
What I want is the styled menu from the first image in the place of the unstyled menu from the second image. I don't understand how the secondary menu appears styled in it's normal place and unstyled when I move it. Obviously, I've done something very wrong.
Here is my style sheet: http://wordpress.frontrangecommercial.net/wp-content/themes/executive-pro/style.css
As I said, I await your reply. Thank you so much for answering me!

I followed your directions, and again, I get a stupid text menu under the slider (the same thing that happened when I put the Secondary Menu in the top-menu widget using the Custom Menu widget). The secondary menu I want remains Above the Slider and Under the Header.
I don't know what I did to make this happen. I am sooo confused!

August 19, 2015 at 12:00 pm in reply to: What is the real Estate theme that will work with IDXBroker? #162872michelefreeMemberI just made a site using Themeforest's Ausart: beckygloriod.com. The theme is beautiful, but slow. The SEO isn't good because Visual Composer conflicts with Yoast products. Our SEO numbers aren't good, so I'm working on it as much as I can. They recommended dsIDXpress, so that's what I used with that site.
For the Berkshire Hathaway office, if you had to create a mobile-ready real estate site for an office of 30 agents, what theme and IDX product would you use? It sounds like you know what you're doing. I would like to stay on the Genesis platform where I can develop locally on DesktopServer.
I don't know what you mean by IDX B's "Original". What IDX should I use? I need to update the whole site.
On Themeforest, I bought 3 themes that said they had built-in real estate searches that worked with IDX, but when I tried them, the search only worked for properties you add to the site yourself. The searches didn't work with IDX at all. I was SO frustrated, and I lost a lot of time. The 4-month development time on Ausart made me do research and find the Genesis platform. I've been using Executive Pro as the child theme.
I want to make sure that I have the right, the best, real estate theme on the Genesis platform and the best IDX product available for this development. I can't spend 4 months ever again on development!!!!
I appreciate your help! M@=)

August 11, 2015 at 1:27 pm in reply to: change primary nav responsive menu color in executive pro #162064michelefreeMemberHi! Thanks so much for your help! I am concerned that my CSS file is turning into spaghetti code. I change the colors, and it has no effect. Adding the second menu to the commands was a great idea, but it doesn't work. I should be able to control something as simple as the primary responsive navigation, so I'm very frustrated and worried. And I have a lot of other things to do I need to get to! (Like how the info in the header is not right justified!!!)
In case you still want to help, here is a screen shot of my main home page, followed by my entire CSS file. I would really appreciate help!! 🙂

July 22, 2015 at 5:41 pm in reply to: Executive Pro, want full width responsive header,slider,call-to-action,footer #160153michelefreeMemberYes RogerP. I am no expert, but this is the style sheet I am using. It adds a line to the end of the file, and then inside the file I marked my changes with EDIT.
I hope it works for you, and if you have any problems or upgrades, let me know!
