Thanks for your response! I use a mac with Yosemite and Chrome. I know about removing browser cache...any design suggestions? Can't tell all website visitors to clear their cache!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
michelefreeMemberTom--
I don't know what's causing it, but I've managed to work around it. Every day I work on the site, I begin by deactivating ALL of my plugins, and then reactivating them. Then everything works like a rocket because of all of my optimization.
Don't know why this is...
Thanks for checking back!
michelefreeMemberI never get when I'm supposed to start my own thread! 🙂 it seems this is the same subject, so these people would have researched, and the answer would be more forthcoming. The thread wasn't closed.
So if I have the same problem, I start a new thread, but if I'm answering his problem, I stay on his thread?
Thanks! 😀
November 21, 2015 at 7:22 pm in reply to: IDX search widget on top of slider, widget on top of slider #171734michelefreeMemberyes--shows under the slider.
michelefreeMemberI am having the same problem! I didn't duplicate sites--one is not on the Genesis platform, one is. The one on Genesis with Executive Pro is so slow I can't work in it. I have to release next week!!!!!! I have to be able to work.
I've done all the cache and files deletion and plugin stuff. It doesn't help.
Mine are on Bluehost.

Can anyone advise? This is very serious for me.
As for new hosting, I'm moving my own site to Siteground.
michelefreeMemberI am having a terrible problem with latency in my admin section. Bluehost has zero technical help here. I am desperate--releasing next week and nearly unable to work.
michelefreeMemberHi @Braddalton and @RyanC.
I want to put an IDX Basic Search on top of my Genesis responsive slider. @RyanC said he figured it out, but did not say how, so that didn't help me at all!
@BradDalton, I don't understand what your answer means here at all. I have created a widget area, and I have a Basic Search widget ready to go, but I don't know how to position it on top of the slider, and make sure it stays in the right place responsively.Can you help, maybe lead me to the right tutorial? I need to get this done!
michelefreeMemberHi Victor. Thank for addressing my question. But I don't understand your answer. Are you talking about the secondary menu under the slider with 4 elements?
I know they are coded identically. The both have the same number of menu items.
That's why I don't understand why the blue site works, and the red site doesn't.
michelefreeMemberI solved the problem!
These are the steps I took--putting them here in case anybody else has this problem.
1) Backed up styles.css. Pasted the whole contents into a text file.
2) Edited styles.css and removed all color references of ANY nav menu in styles.css. Pasted them all into a text file.
3) Opened "Lazyest Stylesheet", a plugin for WordPress that is executed after styles.css, so the commands take priority.
4) Placed the nav menu commands for the primary menu from the text file into the Lazyest Stylesheet one by one until the menu looked like I wanted it to look.The Lazyest Stylesheet editor found typos in my css coding. That helped a lot.
Again, thanks for your help!

michelefreeMemberI tired that. It seems that when I separate out the primary menu, it makes no difference.
michelefreeMemberThank you so much for your response Julia!
However, I have tried what you said, which HAS to be correct because the language doesn't lie, but it ends up making a menu that looks like the attached. The bkg goes to white, the font goes to white, the hover is white, etc. Everything is white!
Can't figure it out.
Thanks again, M@=)

September 24, 2015 at 4:47 pm in reply to: Executive Theme: Slider content disappears on mobile devices #166601michelefreeMemberHi all. My client WANTS the slider gone on iPhone portrait. I was hoping this code, taken from above, would suppress the slider on iPhone portrait.
Would appreciate advice! I'm not that familiar with the @media sections.
This is the code I'm using:
/* added .menu line below to eliminate slider on iPhone */
@media only screen and (max-width: 270px) {.menu li.right, #content #genesis-responsive-slider .slide-excerpt {
display: none;
}.header-image .site-title a {
background-size: contain !important;
}.site-title {
font-size: 26px;
}}
September 14, 2015 at 4:17 pm in reply to: OTW Portfolio page does not display properly on iPad #165495michelefreeMemberIt seems to have resolved itself. I checked it on a responsive screen simulator, http://responsivedesignchecker.com/, and everything looked good.
I think it is my first generation iPad that is having trouble.
However, when I checked wordpress.frontrangecommercial.net on the 27-inch screen using responsivedesignchecker.com, the site looks awful. The slider is wedged against the left side, and the content of the site is spread out way too far.
Any suggestions there? Do I need to add an @media for 2560-width screens inside a wrapper?
Appreciate your help. Cheers!
August 27, 2015 at 12:17 pm in reply to: What is the real Estate theme that will work with IDXBroker? #163767michelefreeMemberGinger, thank you for your reply.
So you're saying that the old IDX Broker is the right one to stay with for an office with 30 agents?
michelefreeMemberPS Get the Genesis Visual Hook plugin if you're going to be using genesis simple hooks. It's invaluable--it lays the hooks out right on the page!
August 26, 2015 at 9:41 pm in reply to: Move secondary nav to show under slider – Executive theme #163690michelefreeMemberPS Get the Genesis Visual Hooks plugin. It maps out where the hooks are on your page. It's awesome!
michelefreeMemberHave you tried making a Utility Bar? This is pretty simple and is explained in this tutorial: http://www.carriedils.com/widget-area-above-header-genesis/
It worked great for me! Let me know how it works for you!
