I am clearly missing something, when I got to appearance>widgets it only affects the home page.
masonjarsaladsMemberSorry, I'm still new at this so bear with me. How do I populate the new widgets? I've registered them in my functions.php file. I can see the new template as an option but it looks just like any other page.
masonjarsaladsMemberI followed your tutorial for a widgetized custom page template. How can I populate a specific page with widgets? I set the template to "widgets template" but I can't seem to find the widgets. The only place that I can use them are on the home page.
Thanks again.
masonjarsaladsMemberThanks Brad, I really appreciate it. I will check out your suggestions.
masonjarsaladsMemberI'm trying to include the link to the gist here but it isn't working. I didn't realize that tutorial isn't good for HTML 5 themes I found it to be the most popularly recommended. Might you suggest a better way to create a photo index for recipes? I prefer not to use a plug-in if I can code it myself.
I'm using the sample theme.
Thanks for your help!
masonjarsaladsMemberThanks,
masonjarsaladsMemberIt looks like you figured this out on your own, I love that page on your site. Care to share what the answer was? I would like to create something similar on my site.
masonjarsaladsMemberAwesome, thanks!
masonjarsaladsMemberAlso, it seems to work on all mobile devices horizontally.
masonjarsaladsMemberThat's exactly what I am doing. Can you customize it per device size?
masonjarsaladsMemberThank you! Last question, there are changes I've made to font, color etc. that aren't originally in the media files do they need to be added or do I only need to change what was originally there and changed elsewhere?
I'm clearly new at this but loving the learning process. thanks again.
masonjarsaladsMemberOuch, I did't realize that. All the code that is under the media files that is also under the header, content, sidebar etc. needs to be the same?
Thank you so much for this.
masonjarsaladsMemberHa, I'm keeping you on your toes!
That did it! You rock, thanks.
masonjarsaladsMemberWhoops, I missed an element. That worked, however I do want the date to be included....
masonjarsaladsMemberThanks, that didn't do it either shucks.
masonjarsaladsMemberYes, and yes.
masonjarsaladsMemberSorry, I want to remove the author from all posts including the home page. Thanks for your help, I tried a code from your website but that didn't work for me but I think I may chose the wrong one.
masonjarsaladsMemberThanks, I did that and there were only two sizes that were off and not by much. I changed them to the original and it looks the same on my mobile device. I changed the image size and the width which helped but still at a loss.
.header-image .site-header .wrap {
background: url(images/[email protected]) no-repeat center;
background-size: 200px 110px;
}
@media only screen and (max-width: 1023px) {body {
background-color: #fff;
}.content,
.content-sidebar-sidebar .content,
.content-sidebar-sidebar .content-sidebar-wrap,
.footer-widgets-1,
.footer-widgets-2,
.footer-widgets-3,
.sidebar-content-sidebar .content,
.sidebar-content-sidebar .content-sidebar-wrap,
.sidebar-primary,
.sidebar-secondary,
.sidebar-sidebar-content .content,
.sidebar-sidebar-content .content-sidebar-wrap,
.site-header .widget-area,
.site-inner,
.title-area,
.wrap {
width: 75%;masonjarsaladsMemberThat's strange because I never touched the css code for media queries. Thanks, I will figure it out.
masonjarsaladsMemberThank you, I've added the hook. How do I properly show the widgeted area to the right of the nav?
