I can make it pretty much any size, but I'd prefer something around 400x100

It was code I had in Genesis Hooks that did not work as intended.

If I disable the plugin, the date is still there. As I stated before, it is not a plugin. I have already disabled them all and then refreshed the page after clearing the cache.

Further, if the contact form plugin was the cause, then how is it that the other pages show the date also?

It has to be the News child theme.

Um, here. It is the News child theme.

I'll look in the functions file, but what code would I be looking for? Anything with "date" maybe?

lol nm, nothing in there but a few things specific to this child theme.

    So nope, not there either.

I don't think it is the contact form plugin. The date shows up on other pages too:

So maybe I should just go with another child theme entirely?

I don't know why people are still seeing that pink background, I changed it days ago. I wanted to make a design like this site: http://todaysinnovativewoman.com/ but gave up with the site width issues I was having.

Currently, I don't mind what I have so far. However, the darned side bars are not co-operating. I want to make everything dynamic, fluid, and not fixed width.

Any suggestions before I scrap using this theme entirely?

    Current body width 1200px

I simply want more width in the main content area. It's incredibly teeny to read content in 420 pixels.

Ok I added code for the width in the custom code area. That worked!

Now, how do I get the left and right side bars to work with the new width?

Are you saying I need to edit the core Genesis function.php file? Studiopress always says not to edit the core files, that's why I'm asking.

edit: never mind, I think I've got it sorted. πŸ™‚

edit2: nope, this file has none of the code you quoted either.

    path: /wp-includes/functions.php

    nor /wp-content/themes/news

    Now what?

Thanks Rob, but I can't find any of that in the News functions.php file.

Any other ideas? C'mon people, this is a month old post now.

Thanks! I had a plugin in there called "Genesis Hooks". NO idea why I had it there, I obviously meant to use Genesis Simple Hooks (which was also enabled). I deactivated the Genesis Hooks one, problem solved.

Thanks again! I must have just missed that there were 2 plugins that were so similar looking in the plugin list on that site.

Bill the highlighted BIG red number on your site says $20 per month with $5 in the small print. *shrug*

Anyway, you make it sound a lot more difficult than it is. I have had dedicated servers where I did all the work, I've had monitored dedicated servers, where someone else did the work I needed done. I prefer shared hosting because it is cheaper and I can manage all the sites I need in the same manner.

I Β need to do NOTHING monthly at all except add new content to my mostly private blog/non-business sites. WordPress runs itself quite nicely. It's only when I try new add ons that "break" the site in some way that I then have to scramble to fix it.

As for cloudflare? It's a feature with my site host. I found that it most certainly does speed up site load time, and therefore I prefer to use it. No need for complications, that's just the fact that matters most to me.

So yeah, you make things sound much more difficult than they need to be. If someone is so hmmm (reaching for a polite word... I'll use.. ) paranoid or needs to nit-pick every little stat and monitor every single thing to the most minute detail, sure, have someone else do that programming, installation and managing thing. Leaves a person more time to drool (or stress) over their stats πŸ™‚

What can I say? I live simply and I prefer sparkly things, I'm a woman. πŸ˜€

Thank you too Bill. I appreciate your help as well.

I have a reseller account to host all the sites I own. A bit of an old hand and old school coder from way back, so I know my way around. Just sometimes have some cognitive challenges due to my illness and well.. as familiar as I am with WP, sometimes things escape me. What can I say?

Besides, $20 a month is pretty steep when I pay a little more than that for as much of everything I could possibly want and total control of my sites. πŸ™‚

    Thanks again!
