Ah, I'm following you. I'd do both php and css... just hiding the primary sidebar would still require the server to produce it and your user to download it.

In style.css, try adding a:
body.home #content {
width: 880px;
}

(may need width: 880px !important;)

In home.php, add remove_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'genesis_do_sidebar' ); before genesis();

That remove the sidebar and then increases the content space to fill the gap.

I'm not sure I understand your question.

You do not want the theme to be responsive, but you want it to "fit" various devices?

Frankly, that's going to be pretty difficult. You'll need to research the exact widths of the various devices you want to design for, then change/recreate the Responsive Design section at the end of style.css to use "width" instead of "max-width" (@media only screen and (max-width: 800px) { ) for each of the sizes you want to design for.

If you want to simply turn off responsive, I think you can handle that by removing the responsive design section and then changing line 176 to width: 1140px; instead of max-width.

For anyone finding this thread, one common reason for these settings to disappear is Genesis automatically deactivates this area when  another SEO plugin is detected.

Hi,

The background in Agency is from the body (e.g. line 152 in your styles) and is a graphic. You can add CSS for #header { background: #00b5d6; }, but that would only include the section inside of the wrap (likewise, you can change line 152 to exclude the URL completely).

If you want the same effect of a screen-wide background color, may be easiest to edit that graphic in your theme's images folder.

Then you can adjust the value (currently 15) to however many posts you'd like. The value of 10 from the Settings->Reading will not impact this.

Check out the HTML source code. There is a single style rule after the title and before the meta. I'm not exactly sure where that is coming from—perhaps the Genesis->Theme Settings->Header Scripts?

Perhaps a plugin or something in functions.php too. In either case, just tweaking that bit of CSS does it.

On the far left, you can see the 400px in the source code, in the inspector window next to it, I've changed it to 360px (361 and larger causes the issue). The right side shows the website with 360px title-area.

Should clarify - the width of your title-area per the style rule in the html of your site itself (.header-image #header #title-area { width: 400px.....)

It looks like the width of your header is too big. It's at 400px now, knocking it down to 350px knocks the menu back up (the demo width is at 320px).
