You assign them in Appearance=>Menus

SoZoMemberYou don't need to mess with code. Go to Appearance=>Menus, create your menus then assign them to the primary and secondary menu positions.

SoZoMemberSet the primary and secondary menus. Don't use a menu widget.

Themes do not effect your DB but they do have different sidebars so you will most likely need to rearrange your widgets.

SoZoMemberYou do that under Appearance=>Menus

SoZoMemberYa, you'd need to add widths and auto left/right margins to everything you wanted centered and contained. And you can't use Simple Hooks, well you could if you removed the original sidebar in functions.php then added a completely new one, you need to edit the hook that the page title sidebar's function is using. You probably want to relocated the header and nav as well.

add_action( 'genesis_before_post_content', 'genesis_post_info' );from
// Add back, as post has no format
else {
add_action( 'genesis_before_post_content', 'genesis_post_info' );
add_action( 'genesis_post_title', 'genesis_do_post_title' );
add_action( 'genesis_after_post_content', 'genesis_post_meta' );
}

SoZoMemberIf you want a clone of the original site you should get Backup Buddy, otherwise you need to copy over the DB manually.

John “Nicolas Flamel” Wright | SoZo’s design| John Wright Photography
SoZoMemberI doubt that will ever be implemented since WP already provides the custom header function.

SoZoMemberYou either need to remove the widths that are containing it in the style sheet or move it outside the wrap by using the genesis_before hook.

SoZoMemberInstall WP in a subdirectory and work on the theme there

SoZoMemberTry changing the hook used for the slider sidebar in functions.php to before_content_sidebar_wrap, i.e.
// Add the slider on the homepage above the content area
add_action('genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap', 'serenity_include_slider');
function serenity_include_slider() {
if(is_front_page())
dynamic_sidebar( 'slider' );
}
