This is the filter in home.php that forces the full width layout
add_filter( 'genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout', '__genesis_return_full_width_content' );

SoZoMemberI think the issue is the single quotes end up fancy in the forum so write it out instead of copy pasting and use this instead
add_action(get_header, remove_header); function remove_header() { if( ! is_home()) remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_header_markup_open', 5 ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_do_header' ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_header_markup_close', 15 ); }

SoZoMemberIf you want to use home.php like the demo then set the Reading settings back to their defaults. If you want a static front page select your page from the drop down

SoZoMemberThere's no way to do it without hacking into the plugin.

SoZoMemberInstead of using the featured post widget use a text widget with image tags in it.

SoZoMemberYou can use a gradient generator or add an actual image file as the background.

SoZoMemberTo remove the header on every page but the home page add this to functions.php
add_action(get_header, remove_header);
function remove_header() {
if( ! is_home())
remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_do_header' );
}I would make the interior image a link back to the home page as well.

SoZoMemberYou need to go through all the rules in the style sheet with ".home" in the selectors and replace that with the body class of the page you are using the template on.

SoZoMemberYou need to set the Content Archives to show the full content

SoZoMemberSoZoMemberYou could do it all with css. Set the header default rules to what you want the interior pages to have. i.e. the height, background etc. and add "display: none;" to #header .widget-area then use the .home body class to create separate rules to target the div on the home page, i.e.
.home #header .widget-area { display: visible; }
I would increase the height of #title-area a so that the link covers your entire header image as well.

SoZoMemberYes, you can customize any of the themes to your heart's content.

SoZoMemberYou could use Isotope, which is used for the themes here. See this.

SoZoMemberIt's still set to 950px. It should be 960px.

SoZoMemberNow I'm in. What exactly is supposed to be bold?

SoZoMemberIncrease the width in the #nav rule.
I recommend installing the Firebug add on for Firefox or using Chrome's Firebug Lite which will enable you to right click on any element to inspect it and determine the associated style rules or the selectors required to create new style rules.
