Awesome, thanks a lot for this! I tried both of the first two options and have gone with the genesis before loop hook for now.

That's odd. I've uploaded a picture of what I see (in Chrome) here: http://twitpic.com/c9zhbe/full

It is only at certain widths. It's fine when the window is very thin, and when it's very wide, but there's a range of widths in between where I see this broken menu...
