Thanks for responding.

I have done the following:

-Disabled advanced author bio plugin
-I made sure there was nothing fancy being done with Yoast
-I saved the settings in permalinks without changing anything.

None of that worked. The author links is still not working.

We found out it was a core issue with WordPress. We rolled back to WordPress 3.5. and that fixed the issue. We have not updated WordPress since. So, we dont know if the issue has been fixed with the new installment of WordPress.

Never mind.

Here is the process.

Appearance > Background: Upload an image or choose one from your media library. Then set it to no repeat. Then scroll, then center. Then go to your home page, and BOOM! There you have a site similar to the demo.
